BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington has named Eric Veal its new Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts assistant director.
Veal has worked for the city since 2000. Since 2008 he’s served as Community Engagement Manager for the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.
The Parks and Rec Assistant Director role has been vacant since 2009. The city said recent retirement of Superintendent of Recreation Barb Wells and other staff changes allowed for a restructuring of the department.
“I am very pleased that Eric will be filling the role of Assistant Director,” said Director of Parks and Rec Jay Tetzloff in a news release. “He has a proven track record of success and has great vision for moving our department forward in a positive way that will continue to benefit the community.”
Veal begins his new job on Monday.
