Bloomington Police seek attacker following robbery attempt

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police say a woman was hospitalized after she was injured in a strong-arm robbery on Monday night.

Police say a man attacked the 21-year-old woman at about 9:30 p.m. at the corner Empire and McLean streets near the Illinois Wesleyan University campus.

The woman described the attacker as a six-foot-tall black male in his 20s with dark skin, short black hair and an upper tooth missing. He fled on foot after trying to take her cell phone and a scuffle ensued.

The woman has since been released from the hospital after being treated for her injuries.
