Suzanne M. “Sue” Kidwell, 88, of Bloomington, passed away at 4:58 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington with Rev. Fr. Jeff Windy officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made in Sue’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Central Catholic High School.
Sue was born on September 29, 1927, in Bloomington, a daughter to John E. and Margaret Harder Carbery. She married Robert E. Kidwell on October 10, 1953, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1998.
Surviving are her children, Edward Kidwell of Bloomington, Kevin (Rita) Kidwell of O’Fallon, MO, Becky (John) Kolleng of Wilmette IL, John (Robin) Kidwell of Bloomington, Tom (Kristina) Kidwell of Woodridge IL, James Kidwell of Indianapolis, IN and Margaret (Bill) Ethridge of Little Rock, AR. Also surviving Sue is her sister, Margie (Keith) Lee of Washington IL.
In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, Robert Carbery, her sister, Berta Iesbert. Her first husband, Edward Benjamin, died in 1951.
Sue was born and raised, and lived her entire life in Bloomington. She was a graduate of Trinity High School Class of 1945 and a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington.
She was a loving mother, and a fond grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She enjoyed her time with family and friends. Sue will be deeply missed.
