6 officers injured in fight at Pontiac prison

PONTIAC – The Illinois Department of Corrections is investigating a fight between inmates and guards at the Pontiac prison on Sunday.

Corrections Department spokeswoman Nicole Wilson said the facility has been placed on lockdown.

Wilson said six DOC officers treated and released from a local hospital. The Chicago Tribune reports five inmates were involved in the fight, but officials aren’t providing details about what happened.
