BLOOMINGTON – Country Financial reports some money is coming back to crop hail policyholders.
The Bloomington-based insurer says policyholders will receive a dividend of slightly more than 11 percent based on the premium paid on this year’s hail policy. The amount of the dividend will depend on the amount of coverage.
Country says $1.7 million will be paid to more than 10,000 policyholders.
“What a great way to end a favorable fall for Illinois farmers,” said Sheri Bane, vice president of Commercial/Agribusiness Underwriting at COUNTRY Financial. “Our continued financial strength and favorable weather made this dividend possible.”
Country reports it is the largest crop insurer in Illinois, covering 3.1 million acres of Illinois crops valued at about $1.9 billion.
