Clinton man’s life sentence reduced after appeal’s court ruling

BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County judge has reduced a Clinton man’s life sentence to 45 years in prison for a series of sexual assaults.

The 4th District Appellate Court in Springfield ruled in 2015 the life sentence that Brett Wilson received for those assaults when he was 17 years old amounted to cruel and unusual punishment. He was convicted of assaulting three children.

Wilson is now 24 and now could get out of prison in his late 50s.
