BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Sheriff’s Police have arrested two Tazewell County residents for the murder of an East Peoria woman, whose body was found last Sunday night in the woods at the Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funks Grove.
One of the suspects is the daughter of murder victim Teresa Poehlman, who was 47.
Police said Christine Roush, 22, of Washington is charged with first-degree murder along with Matthew Isbell, 20, of Marquette Heights, but authorities are not revealing how they believe Poehlman was killed.
Sheriff’s police said they arrested the pair in Bloomington after an extensive investigation by sheriff’s detectives, the McLean County State’s Attorney’s office, and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.
The investigation continues, and police said there could be more arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call Sheriff’s Detective Cory Beverlin at 888-5048.
