NORMAL – Illinois State University basketball player Milik Yarbrough has pleaded guilty to a petty charge of failing to appear in McLean County Court for a traffic offense, but Yarbrough still has to answer to a misdemeanor charge in an unrelated case.
For his guilty plea Wednesday, a judge sentenced Yarbrough to six-months of court supervision, and fined him $534.50.
Authorities say Yarbrough failed to appear for driving on a suspended license. The traffic offense will be dismissed if he successfully completes his supervision.
A pre-trial hearing is set for July 2 on a reckless conduct charge in which Yarbrough allegedly pushed a woman who took his cell phone in Normal last month.
Normal Police consider the incident a domestic matter. The woman, Tiarra Kindle, faces a misdemeanor criminal damage to property charge.
In both court matters, ISU Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Muller said he’s handling Yarbrough’s legal problems internally.
