BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington police say the two drivers who hit and killed pedestrians in two separate accidents in 2019 were not at fault.

Both accidents happened on Veterans Parkway that runs through Bloomington and Normal.

Police said there was no evidence the drivers were impaired or distracted.

The first accident happened in September where 18-year-old Reginald Hubbert, an employee at the nearby Pizza Ranch, was hit killed crossing the street.

In November, 25-year-old Vincent Shorten was hit and killed along a separate stretch of Veterans.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
