Police, coroner investigate male body found in Tazewell County

WASHINGTON – The Tazewell County Coroner and Illinois State Police Crime Lab are investigating the discovery of a body behind the Washington Plaza, just east of the AMC in Washington.

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said the man was pronounced dead around 10:15 a.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning. The man’s name is being withheld until family is notified.

This case remains under investigation by the coroner’s office, Illinois State Police, and Washington Police.
