Ameren reaching out to those with past due bills

Ameren Illinois is reaching out to residential customers with past due balances.

   
Spokesman Leigh Morris says now through March 31, customers can establish a payment plan with the utility by paying 10 percent of the past due balance. He says the remaining portion of the past due bill can then be paid in monthly installments along with the current bill amount for each month.


Morris says Ameren officials will also help customers see if they might benefit from two rate relief programs.


Morris says starting April 1st, customers will be required to pay 25 percent of the balance before establishing a payment plan.
