Livingston County man killed by lightning strike

A Livingston County man is dead after he was reportedly struck by lightning while riding a bicycle. The Livingston County Coroner's Office says 57-year-old Ted Lambert of Manville was pronounced dead on County Road 700 East shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday.

Authorities say Lambert was following someone else, who was riding a mower in Newtown Township. That person witnessed the strike and went to a nearby residence to call for help. The lightning strike resulted from a fast-moving storm that moved through the area. An autopsy has been scheduled.
