Defense attorney wants out of Beason murder case

LINCOLN – One of the defense attorneys in the 2009 Beason multiple murder case wants out.

Attorney Jay Elmore filed a request in Logan County court on Friday, stating he wants to quit accused murderer Chris Harris’s case.The document reveals Harris is accused of making incriminating statements to one of Elmore’s other clients. The two men allegedly held the conversation while they were both being held in the Logan County jail.

Harris, 32, of Armington and his brother, 23-year-old Jason Harris, are charged with killing Rick and Ruth Gee and their three children in September of 2009. The couple’s youngest daughter survived the attack.
