LeRoy girls win sectional, Normal West takes regional

COLFAX – The LeRoy Panthers are headed to the girls Class 1A Supersectional after defeating Urbana University High 65-48 for the programs first sectional championship.
Molly Marcum scored 32 for the 26-3 Panthers in the sectional title game at Colfax.
The Panthers will take on No. 1-ranked Annawan at Illinois Wesleyan’s Shirk Center at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Wildcats win regional
Normal West upset top-seeded U-High to win the Class 3A regional at West with a 44-39 win.
The No. 2-seeded Wildcats (15-12) will play in the Taylorville Sectional on Monday against the winner of Friday’s Decatur Eisenhower Regional Championship game between Taylorville or Chatham-Glenwood.
Hawks fall short in OT
St. Thomas More of Champaign hit two free throws at the end of regulation and pulled away in overtime for a 53-44 win over Prairie Central in the Class 2A Sectional Championship at St. Joseph-Ogden.
