BLOOMINGTON – A 31-year-old Bloomington man has been charged with drunken driving in a December crash that killed another Twin City man.

Brayone Murff was due in court Friday, after being indicted this week on 12 counts of aggravated driving under the influence – four counts involving a death, the other eight involving bodily harm to others.

Murff was allegedly the driver of a Lexus that was westbound on Fairway Drive on Dec. 17. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with another car just east of the Towanda Avenue intersection.

Tony Buck, 31, of Bloomington, was a back-seat passenger in Murff’s car and was killed in the crash. Two others were injured in the crash.

Police say the delay in indicting Murff related to an investigation that included accident reconstruction, examination of the vehicle’s data recorder, and blood-alcohol level testing.

Murff was being held at the McLean County jail on $500,000 bond.
