McLean County is one of five counties that will be getting money from the federal government following the winter storm in February.

Governor Quinn announced the aid to Grundy, Livingston, Sangamon, and Stephenson counties as well. Local governments will be able to receive reimbursements for up to 75-percent of their eligible storm related expenses.

Curt Hawk with the McLean County Emergency Management Agency said the next step in informing the 44 applicants that they’ll be reimbursed, after meeting with FEMA officials.

“We’ll ask them to show up for the briefing. FEMA will explain to them what they’ll need to fill out and then ask them to sort those dollars out.”

Hawk said the Bloomington Public Works Department had the highest reimbursement request. McLean County was initially declined.
