Illinois State University Associate Professor of Management Terry Noel joined WJBC’s Jim Fitzpatrick to discuss President Obama’s recent budget proposal.
“I can’t figure out his political strategy. I cannot imagine why he would put forth a document that goes against everything most people recommend to bring an economy out of the doldrums,” Noel said. The overall budget plan includes spending hikes in education, manufacturing and infrastructure renovation, including highways and bridges.
It also calls for sweeping cuts in defense spending. Obama said painful cuts must be made to help put the nation back on a sustainable fiscal path.
