Mary Ann Beyer died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.
Mary Ann Beyer of Bloomington, Ill. passed away at 3:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. She was 79.
Her funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday Feb. 11, 2012 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington and at Noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington with Monsignor Doug Hennessy officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2012 with the Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
She was born July 31, 1932 in Bloomington, the daughter of William L and Rosalia Anna (Holtz) Phelan. She married Leonard E. Beyer on July 14, 1956 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2007.
She is survived by one daughter, Deenie Sullivan of Bloomington; one son, Andrew (Elizabeth) of Bloomington; one brother, Bill (Sharon) Phelan of Normal; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a grandson Mathew A. who she raised as her son.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Donna Rose, two sons, Ronald Eugene and Glenn “Duke”, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
She was a telephone operator at General Telephone for 38 yrs, and later became known as “Grannie Cabbie” and for more than 20 years her and her husband co-owned and operated Circle City Cab Company.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

Sandra D. Ferguson

Sandra Ferguson died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.
Sandra D. Ferguson of Normal, Ill., formerly of Colfax, Ill., passed away at 10:28 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. She was 53.
Visitation for Sandra will be held 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Colfax. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. also on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Jassman will be officiating. Cremation will be accorded following services. Burial will be at a later date at Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Sandra was born July 3, 1958 in Gibson City the daughter of Voit and Betty Burgess Ferguson. They preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Kris (Julie McFarland) Ferguson of Normal and Kody Ferguson of Colfax; one grandson, Jaxson Ferguson; two sisters, Melody (Rick) Wagoner of Colfax and Marlene (John) Holt of Peoria; nephew, Dustin Holt of Normal.
Sandra last worked for Nestle Biech for 17 years.

Glen H. Lovekamp

Glen Lovekamp died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012.
Glen H. Lovekamp of Freeport, Ill., formerly of Normal, Ill., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 at 6:05 p.m. at Liberty Village- Manor Court in Freeport. He was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Thomas Wirsing and Pastor Allen Steinbeck officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard at the church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington and one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington or to an organization of the donor’s choice. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements.
Glen was born on Jan. 25, 1925 in Cass County, Ill. a son to Hugo and Bertha (Korsmeyer) Lovekamp. He married Betty J. Wilcox on October 2, 1955 in Springfield, Ill. and she survives.
In addition to his wife Betty, Glen is survived by his three sons, Paul (Vicki) Lovekamp of Pennsylvania, James (Andrea) Lovekamp of Texas, David Lovekamp of Normal, IL, one daughter, Diane (Mark) Wakeley of Freeport, IL; six grandchildren: Jordan Wakeley of Sterling, Joshua Wakeley of Freeport, Austin Lovekamp and Kaleigh Lovekamp both of Texas, Colby Cilento and Camden Cilento both of Florida. Glen is also survived by one sister: Helen Skibbe of Cincinnati, OH, one nephew: John Skibbe of Georgia and one niece Faith Skibbe of Cincinnati, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew Ron Skibbe.
Glen served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He graduated from Meredosia High School in 1943. Glen then attended Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill. where he received his Bachelor Degree and University of Michigan Graduate School in Anne Arbor, Michigan where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Mathematics.
Glen worked at Franklin Life Insurance Company in Springfield as an Actuary and held the position of Head Actuary of the State of Illinois. He started as an Actuary at Country Life Insurance in 1964, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington and the Society of Actuaries.
Glen and Betty met while bowling which they both enjoyed and it became a big part of their life. He also enjoyed woodworking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren and wife, Betty. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Liberty Village-Manor Court for their kindness and care for Glen while he was a resident there for the past year and a half. Glen enjoyed his time there and was well liked. Last year on Valentines day he was voted “King for the Day” by his fellow residents.

Geoffrey Kent Wilson

Geoffrey Wilson died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012.
Geoffrey Kent Wilson of Melvin, Ill. passed away at 12:25 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 in Chatsworth, Ill. He was 50.
Geoffrey’s funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Fairbury. Pastor Steve Anderson will be officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. If you attend the funeral and have a motorcycle please ride it weather permitting. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Memorials may be made to Geoffrey’s family.
Geoffrey was born Oct. 28, 1961 in Columbia, MO a son of Alfred and Barbara Crawford Wilson. They preceded him in death.
He first married Deborah Gillis Kimmel on Aug. 5, 1983. He then married Deanna Hershe Bressner on June 8, 1998.
Surviving are his children, Brittany (Scott) Ziller of Fairbury, Ryan (Melisa Tanner) Wilson and Kara Wilson both of Melvin; grandchildren, Ayden and Ethan Ziller, Teagan Cox, Kaiden and Cameryn Wilson, and Kailyn Maynard; brothers, James (Michelle) Wilson of Danville, Richard Wilson of Melvin, and Denzil (Cheri) Wilson of Chatsworth.
Geoffrey specialized in auto glass repair. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He enjoyed riding his Harley and everything that had to do with racing. He once drove a street stock and a late model at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway at #4W.
