Carlynne Dree Engel

Carlynne Engel died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.
Carlynne Dree Engel of Bloomington, Ill. passed away at 6:53 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at Meadows Mennonite Home in Chenoa, Ill. She was 78.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Inurnment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in LeRoy, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the libraries of Unit 5 Schools in Normal. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
Carlynne was born on Nov. 28, 1933 in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of John A. and Leona G. Dolley South. Carlynne is survived by her daughter Lynne E. Reagan of Champaign, and a granddaughter: Katherine L. Reagan Duitsman and her husband Eric of Champaign. Carlynne was preceded in death by her parents.
Carlynne was a graduate of Bloomington High School and Illinois State Normal University. She was a librarian at several Unit 5 elementary schools and Normal Community High School. Before she became a librarian for Unit 5, she taught school and was librarian for Round Lake High School, Grant Community High School in Fox Lake and Eureka High School.
She was a Life Member of National Education Association and Illinois Education Association; Illinois Retired Teachers’ Association and McLean County Retired Teachers’ Association.

Frieda Naomi Harder
Frieda Naomi Harder of Normal, Ill. died at 7:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at Heritage Health in Normal. She was 80.
Her graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington, Ill. with Rev. John McIntosh officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Naomi was born July 3, 1931 in Dugger, Ind., a daughter of Ray and Dorothy Alsman Stevenson.
Surviving are two daughters, DiAnn (Jeff) Naden, Normal, IL and Deborah (Jim) Presley, Bloomington, IL, four grandchildren, Maggie and Abby Naden and Payten and Morgan Presley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Roy Wolf, a daughter Direnda Harder and a grandson, Quinten Presley.

Richard M. Herr

Richard Herr died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012.
Richard M. Herr of Normal, Ill. died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at 3:25 a.m. at Heritage Health in Bloomington, Ill. He was 96.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington with military honors by the Bloomington/Normal American Legion honor guard.Entombment will follow at Park Hill Mausoleum. Rev. Dr. Richard Trefzger will officiate.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday at the memorial home. Memorials can be made to First Christian Church, Bloomington.
Mr. Herr was born May 31, 1915 in Pontiac, Ill. to William D.and Lulu Powell Herr. He married Bernadine L. Miller on March 28, 1947 at Normal. She survives.
Surviving includes a son, Tom (Patty) Herr, Cincinnati, OH, three daughters, Nancy (Greg) King, Olympia, WA, Deb (Steve) Erickson, Bloomington, IL and Polly (Chuck) Schott, Normal, IL; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-granchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Barker Herr.
Mr. Herr graduated from Northwestern University, Evanston with a degree in economics. He worked for State Farm Insurance Company, Bloomington for 44 years retiring as an underwriting director.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Bloomington and Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Mr. Herr served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a combat veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. He was discharged in November 1945 at the rank of Sergeant.
Richard was a loving husband, dad and granddad who was cherished by his family and will be remembered always.

Carol Hutchcraft

Carol Hutchcraft died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012.
Carol J. Hutchcraft of Bloomington, Ill. was called home by the Lord suddenly at 4:46 p.m. Jan. 26, 2012 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Ill. She was 55.
Her funeral mass will be at noon on Tuesday at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal with Msgr. Eric Powell officiating.Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesday at Epiphany Catholic Church, and a luncheon will follow the mass. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Midwest Food Bank, The McLean County Humane Society, the Home Sweet Home Mission, or to the donor’s choice.
She was born Feb. 23, 1956, in Prairie du Chein, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Leo J. and Florence M. Dietrich Weber. She married Rick Hutchcraft May 8, 1982 in Bloomington. He survives.
Survivors include daughter Megan Hutchcraft (Ramón Sarason) of New Mexico; son, Jake Hutchcraft (Megan Gleason) of Bloomington; step_daughters, Shani (Chris) Allen of Arkansas; Shanon (Mike) Wilson of Cropsey, IL; seven step_grandchildren and one godchild; seven sisters, Barbara Weber of Virginia; Judy Weber of Michigan; Mary (Larry) Fowler of Wisconsin; Elaine (Glenn) Gauger of Wisconsin; Chris (Tom) Anderson of Groveland, IL; Ann (David) Boland of Wisconsin; Karen (Ted) Martin of Wisconsin; three brothers, Tom (Sherin) Weber of Palatine, IL; Rich (Laura) Weber of Wisconsin; Dave (Jill) Weber of Sterling, IL; She is also survived by numerous other family members and her beloved dog Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She attended Epiphany Catholic Church in Normal. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. She was a manager for Montgomery Ward for 21 years before joining State Farm Insurance as a Business Analyst for the past 14 years.
Carol was an avid football fan, present at almost all Bloomington High School and Illinois State University games, and a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. She was devoted to her family and cared for all people.

Ralph D. Reeves
Ralph D. Reeves of Bloomington, Ill. died at 9:13 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. He was 85.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Guy and Rev. Luke Arnold officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home Bloomington. Memorials maybe give for Multiple Sclerosis, American Heart Association or the New Horizon Church.
Ralph was born on Feb. 12, 1926 in Carlock, Ill. to Park and Mabel Reeves. He married Louise Gabehart on July 6, 1946 in Bloomington. Louise survives.
Surviving children include 2 daughters: Cheri (Ron) Foggy of Bloomington and Patti Reeves of Bloomington.
Surviving grandchildren include Laurie (Brian) Alsup of Bloomington and Cindy (Tom) Short of Yuma, AZ. A sister, Elva Bizyak of Bloomington, also survives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Park “Pete” Reeves and Donald Reeves, and 2 sisters: Pearl Wierman and Lucille Treece.
Ralph was a member of New Horizon Church in Heyworth, Ill. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. H was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bloomington.
Ralph owned and operated Reeves Wrecker Service in Bloomington. He was an avid Chicago Bulls fan.
The family would like to thank the McLean County Nursing Home and OSF St. Joseph Medical Center for their loving care.
