Josephine M. Isenegger
Josephine M. Isenegger, 87, of Normal, passed away at 4:30am, Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.
Her funeral will be at 10:30am Saturday, (2-18-12) at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home and 11:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Monsignor Douglas Hennessy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Friday (2-17-12) at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7:00pm.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois or the McLean County Nursing Home, both in Normal.
Josephine was born on February 23, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of Phillip and Barbara Schmidt Carlo. She married Lester Isenegger on April 6, 1962 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1991.
She is survived by two sons, John (Mary) Sipich and Michael (Michelle) Cira, both of Bloomington; two daughters, Barbara Cira, Bloomington and Leslie (George) Nickum, Normal; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Bajic, Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, one sister, one son, Bruce Cira and one grandson, Johnny Cira.
Josephine was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington. She was active in the Senior Citizen Activity Club and was an avid pinochle player and White Sox fan. Josephine had volunteered at the McLean County Nursing Home in Normal. The family would like to thank the staff at the McLean County Nursing Home for all their care and support.
Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and always thought of others before herself. She will be dearly missed.
