Some Central Illinois politicians welcomed the governor of Minnesota to Bloomington with “Pawlenty” of support. Governor Tim Pawlenty headlined a fundraiser for the McLean County Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee this evening. Pawlenty is considering a bid for president on the Republican ticket during the 2012 election. Just hours after President Obama announced more support for international efforts in Libya, Pawlenty said the call could have come sooner.
“We have a confirmed terrorist and killer and in my view psychopath in the form of Colonel Moammar Gadhafi who is gunning down his people who are seeking freedom liberty and democracy. I believe it was appropriate for the United States to consider and deploy a no-fly zone and take other measures,” said Pawlenty.
Pawlenty also said he’s concerned with the federal deficit. He also added the need to support Japan a week after it was ravished by an earthquake and tsunami.
