Illinois State University football coach Brock Spack says he had concerns about recruiting his son to play defense for the Redbirds, but he says Brent will be treated like any other player.
In fact, Spack says he's already told his son that he'll have to be better than the rest because all eyes will be on him
Challenger Learning Center offers classes for kids during Spring break
The Challenger Learning Center on the Heartland Community College campus will be offering one-day classes the last week of the month, during Unit Five and District's 87's Spring break.
The classes are for children as young as kindergarten through middle school

Bloomington Kiwanis Pancake Days has been a tradition since 1951. The club holds this event annually in late February serving pancakes and sausage to over 3,000 people.
Pancake Days was expanded about 10 years ago to include a book fair, selling children’s books through the Scholastic Books organization.
Link found between Vitamin D and depression
WJBC Medical Expert Dr. John Wieland says a British study of 12,000 patients found a link between low Vitamin D levels and depression.
Wieland explains another study contradicted the British study but he believes there's enough of a correlation that he suggests with patients who have major depression, doctors should screen for a Vitamin D deficiency

The Sounds of Illinois Barbershop Chorus continue their Valentine's Day tradition of offering singing valentines next Monday and Tuesday for $50.
The group is offering a barbershop quartet dressed in tuxedos to sing two love songs, plus a personalized Valentine card, a rose and a gift of either chocolates or a candle. The money raised will support travel expenses for an upcoming competition in Oregon. Below are a couple of samples of what they can do for your sweetheart.

Tech expert Dean Plumadore says the iPad is faster, has more storage and is generic enough to be used as a Barnes and Noble Nook, Kindle Fire or an iBook reader for Apple products.
The Fire only allows access to the Amazon shopping ecosystem and Netflix but it’s a third of the cost of the iPad
