Illinois State University football coach Brock Spack says he had concerns about recruiting his son to play defense for the Redbirds, but he says Brent will be treated like any other player.
In fact, Spack says he’s already told his son that he’ll have to be better than the rest because all eyes will be on him. The Normal Community High School senior will be a linebacker for the Birds.
“There is no ‘family’ in football,” says Spack. He told his wife and son they can talk about family matters at home but not football.
Coach Spack also got some advice from other college coaches who have had sons play for them. Hear what he has to say about that below.
