Blaze continue homestand against unbeaten teams

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, could not overcome an early deficit and lost 6-2 to the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.
The Mallards wasted little time, scoring twice in the first 1:16 on goals from Eric Giosa and Brandon Marino.

Illinois State looks to extend a three-game winning streak as the Redbirds visit Southern Illinois on Saturday. You can hear the game at 1:30 p.m. on WJBC 1230 AM, the Country Financial Illinois State Redbird Radio Network and here on WJBC.com.
Gameday Saturday comes before the game at 1:06pm. During the game, WJBC will provide updates of the high school football playoff games.
Blaze suffer first loss in overtime
The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, could not hold onto a two-goal lead in the third period and fell in overtime on Friday night, 6-5 to the Quad City Mallards at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Offenses ruled in the first period as the Blaze took a 3-2 lead into the first intermission.

UPDATED 2:15 p.m. | ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday is out for Game 7 of the World Series after spraining his right wrist during Thursday’s Game 6 thriller, the team announced.
David Freese homered to lead off the bottom of the 11th inning in Game 6, and the St. Louis Cardinals forced the World Series to a Game 7 by rallying from two-run deficits against the Texas Rangers in the 9th and 10th last night.
Blaze look to capitalize on homestand

The Blaze used a second-period offensive surge to win their first-ever game, 5-4, in overtime over the Dayton Gems last weekend.
