Illinois State University football travels to Springfield, Missouri today to face the Missouri State Bears. The Redbirds lost in a tough contest last weekend against the North Dakota State Bison. Illinois State will be without wideout Marvon Sanders, who is expected to miss three weeks with a broken hand.
Illinois Wesleyan football aims to avoid letdown after Wheaton win
BLOOMINGTON - In 25 seasons at Illinois Wesleyan, football coach Norm Eash hasn't lost to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin rival North Park. Plus, the Vikings haven't defeated any CCIW foe in more than a decade (76 consecutive losses dating back to Oct. 7, 2000).
Those figures are impossible to ignore, but Eash will do the best he can as the Titans come off of a thrilling win over 6th-ranked Wheaton to visit North Park on Saturday in Chicago.

BLOOMINGTON - Illinois Wesleyan scored on its first offensive play, a five-yard touchdown run by Sean Conley following a 36-yard fumble recovery by Scott Wenzel, and the 22nd-ranked Titans never trailed in a 24-19 win over 6th-ranked Wheaton.
The Titans led 24-9 when Rob Gallik hit Tate Mussleman late in the third quarter for a 19-yard TD strike. The Thunder would pull to within five and had a potential game-winning drive end on downs in the final minute of the 4th quarter.

Illinois State University football visits the Fargodome this afternoon to face the North Dakota State Bison. The Redbirds (2-2, 1-1) have won two straight against a NDSU team that's coming off a convincing win over Minnesota. Another win won't be easy for Illinois State though. It's homecoming for the Bison (3-0) who are only giving up an average of 11 points per game. Coverage on WJBC AM 1230 starts at noon.

Illinois Wesleyan senior receiver Joey Driver has been named Offensive Player of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Driver, a senior wide receiver from Matteson, Ill., and Rich Central High School, caught nine passes for 95 yards and three touchdowns during the Titans’ 28-0 shutout of Aurora on Saturday.

BLOOMINGTON - Illinois Wesleyan's 35-0 season-opening win over Hope might have been more impressive, but the Titans 17-9 nail-biter over Alma in week two provided the Titans will some much needed experience.
The Titans learned how to eek out a close game, as the offense sustained a 10-minute fourth quarter drive and the defense made a goal-line stand to preserve the win.
