NORMAL - The Normal CornBelters are dipping back into the Major League Baseball minor league system.
Normal signed former Diamondbacks prospect pitcher Sean Johnson Friday. Johnson finished his college career at Oral Roberts University in 2011 with a 2.79 ERA. He went 4-2 and 37 strikeouts. He joined the AZL Diamondbacks of the Arizona League after college.
CornBelters sign utility player
The Normal CornBelters have signed utility player Sam Judah.
In 2011, Judah concluded his collegiate career at Auburn University of Montgomery with a .335 batting average, 11 doubles, four home runs, and 37 RBI. He then signed with the Lake County Fielders of the independent North American League. In 19 games with the Fielders, he hit .255 with 13 hits, six RBI and three doubles.
CornBelters add former Cubs minor league reliever
NORMAL - The CornBelters picked up a former Chicago Cubs minor leaguer Tuesday.
Right-handed reliever Manolin DeLeon was in the Cubs Dominican Summer League system in 2007, then split time in 2008 with the Arizona League Cubs and the Boise Hawks. He also pitched for the Peoria Chiefs in 2009.

NORMAL – The Normal CornBelters have signed shortstop Robert Brooks, a 2008 draft pick of the Atlanta Braves.
Brooks was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 20th round of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft. He played the 2008 season with the GCL Braves (Rookie) of the Gulf Coast League. While there, Brooks accumulated 20 RBI, 3 home runs, a .426 on base percentage and a .329 batting average.
