The joy of living alone

It’s the biggest demographic shift since the Baby Boom: today 28 million more Americans are living alone than were in 1950. This change has had large implications on the economy, politics and even urban planning.
Sociologist Eric Klinenberg tells Steve Fast that, given the choice, many people want to live alone.
Klinenberg is the author of the book “Going Solo: The Extraordinary Rise and Surprising Appeal of Living Alone.”
