The science of a parallel universe

From George Bailey to Mr. Spock, we have seen this science fiction plot:  There is an alternate version of you, living an alternate version of your life in a universe very similar to yours.

Sometimes your “evil twin” lives in this parallel universe. Sometimes it is a version of you who made just that one decision differently.

Brian Greene says that concept is more than just a sci-fi plot. The physicist says that, mathematically, the concept of a parallel universe, or many of them, is very possible.

Greene is the host of the PBS/NOVA series “The Fabric of the Cosmos,” and author of “The Hidden Reality.”
