    Scenes from Alaska - Glacier Bay




    Ranger Tim has the plum assignment of working out of Glacier Bay National Park.

    During the summer season he spends many of his days aboard cruise ships, boarding in the morning to give presentations and tell the passengers about the magnificent natural wonder of this protected area. Make sure to check out the podcast interview with Ranger Tim above.

    Cultural historian and artist Dixie Alexander creates some amazing beadwork-adorned clothing.



    Here are a couple of snapshots of Dixie and some examples of her work. You can go to the Smithsonian Institution Museum of Natural History if you'd like to see another: a hand-made Athabascan chief's jacket.

    Opossum Watch

    John Tobias from the Miller Park Zoo visited with a short-tailed opossum, which Dara Brockmeyer let loose in the studio. The Opossum was eventually recovered after no doubt laying millions of eggs.
