Illinois Wesleyan hoops sweep North Park

BLOOMINGTON – Dylan Overstreet scored 16 points to lead Illinois Wesleyan to a 76-66 win over North Park in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game at Shirk Center. 

IWU jumped out to a 13-3 lead and maintained the advantage throughout. The Titans opened the second half with a 7-2 spurt to lead 46-28. 

The Vikings would draw as close as 67-61 with 2 minutes to go before back-to-back baskets by Trevor Seibring put the game out of reach, 

Wesleyan ups its mark to 11-4, 4-1 in the CCIW. The Titans visit No. 1-ranked Augustana on Wednesday.

Women win

The Illinois Wesleyan women earned their first CCIW win, ending a six-game losing streak with am 89-72 triumph over North Park. 

Kasey Reaber scored 23 points and added eight rebounds, six steals and five assists. 

IWU improves to 7-9 overall, 1-4 in the league.
