IWU’s Nelson, Reaber earn CCIW weekly honors

NAPERVILLE – Two Titan basketball players have earned weekly honors in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin.

Illinois Wesleyan's Jordan Nelson, a senior guard from Lincoln, helped lead the Titans to a pair of CCIW wins last week. He scored a career-high 28 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field, including 7-of-8 on three-pointers, in just 23 minutes during a 93-60 win over Millikin on Wednesday. The seven made three-pointers was just one shy of the school record.

Nelson added 14 points and six rebounds in a 76-66 win over North Park on Saturday to close out the week.

Kasey Reaber, Reaber, a senior guard from Bensenville and Montini Catholic High School, averaged 23.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and totaled 11 steals and 12 assists for the 1-1 Titans last week. Against Millikin on Wednesday, she finished with 24 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and five steals. She then totaled 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists and six steals in an 89-72 win over North Park on Saturday, the Titans' first CCIW win of the season.
