BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce the bringing in of "Weird Al" Yankovic to the Twin Cities. His tour schedule was announced Monday night where he is expected to perform at the BCPA on May 26. He is to attend and perform in many large cities, but Tina Salmone with the BCPA says location really helped Bloomington on to the list.
"You put in a bid, you tell them what we can offer the artist. I've presented them several times and so they know how much I love the show and they're just such great people," said Salmone.
Yankovic has been known for decades for taking your favorite songs and twisting the lyrics around in a humorous fashion. He is expected to be twisting on BCPA's stage as well parodying genres of all music such as, rock, country, reggae, and blues.
Salmone said, "We have presented them several times and they do know that we have great hospitality, that we always have wonderful stage crew where ever we are, and that it's going to be an easy day as they like to call it."
Fan club and presale tickets go on sale Jan 27.
