Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball never trailed against the Carthage Redmen Saturday night and won 77-65 at the Tarble Arena.
The Titans (15-5, 7-2 CCIW) built a 24-point lead with 5:29 left in the first half. Carthage (7-12, 2-6 CCIW) committed several turnovers early, but remained in the game with a relatively clean second half. The final turnover tally was 13-10 in favor of Wesleyan.
The Titans shot 42 percent from three (13-for-31) compared to 26 percent (6-for-20) for the Redmen. Senior guard Jordan Nelson led all scorers with 15 points, all from beyond the arc (5-for-8). Senior guard Dylan Overstreet scored 14 for the Titans and had four assists.
Illinois Wesleyan will play Millikin Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Decatur.
