Titans rout North Central, stay on top in CCIW

Illinois Wesleyan's Pat Sodemann scored 7 points in the Titans' 76-44 win over North Central.

BLOOMINGTON– The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team picked up their fourth straight win Saturday night with a 76-44 win over North Central.

The Titans shot 55 percent (18 of 33) from the field in the second half to help avenge a 78-72 loss to the Cardinals (16-6, 6-5 CCIW) in the conference opener last month.

Dylan Overstreet led a balanced attack for the Titans with a game-high 12 points. Andy Stempel added 11 points with a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the field including a pair of three-pointers. Jordan Nelson chipped in with nine points, while Alec Bausch and Mike Marietti each scored eight.

North Central was led by Charles Rosenberg's nine points.

Illinois Wesleyan still holds a one game lead over Augustana in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin standings. The Titans will host Augustana on Wednesday at the Shirk Center in a battle of the conference's top two teams. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
