The Illinois State women’s basketball team returns to the road, after a four-game homestand. The Redbirds travel to Indiana State Friday at 6:05 p.m., before taking on Evansville Sunday at 2 p.m.

Despite a close 30 minutes, the Illinois State women’s basketball team could not handle Drake’s hot shooting late in the second half, falling, 70-47, Sunday at Redbird Arena.

Zach Dietmeier and China Antoine will call the action on WJBC 1230 AM, WJBC.com and the WJBC app.

The Illinois State baseball team will travel to Arkansas State this weekend for a season-opening four-game series in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The Redbirds will open the 2015 season with a 6 p.m. contest Friday at Kell Field. The teams will then square off in a doubleheader, beginning at 2 p.m., on Saturday, before finishing out the series with a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.

Illinois State enters the 2015 season after compiling a 33-22 record a year ago. The 2014 campaign marked the fifth-consecutive season the team won more 30 or more games. The Redbirds advanced to the title game of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship for the second year in a row, before falling to eventual MVC champion Dallas Baptist, 4-1.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
