BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Coroner Kathleen Davis said a Bloomington teen whose body was found in rural Heyworth this week died from non-natural causes.
An autopsy was conducted Thursday on the body of Kalie Easton. Sheriff Jon Sandage said the 14-year-old girl left home on Tuesday evening and her family reported her missing a short time later and did not knowing where she was going.
"As far as how long she had been outside, we don't know what," Sandage said. "What I can tell you is it's not a weather-related incident."
Sandage said the death is being investigated as suspicious and the sheriff's office is still searching for clues from the public.
"We have had some calls, however no positive identifications or confirmations," Sandage said.
Davis said Easton was pronounced dead at 11:44 a.m. on Wednesday. Davis added forensic toxicology tests have been ordered.
Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call detective Cory Beverlin at 309-275-8389.
