ST. LOUIS – It's normally a hangout for St. Louis Cardinal fans, but it will be taken over by Redbird supporters during the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

The Brew House at Ballpark Village in downtown St. Louis will be Illinois State's pregame and postgame headquarters.

"It is a spectacular venue,"  ISU Athletics Director Larry Lyons told WJBC's Scott Laughlin. "I know a lot of people have already been down there. They are going to enjoy that."

Illinois State Athletics Director Larry Lyons told WJBC's Scott Laughlin will be the gathering place for all Missouri Valley basketball fans.

The tournament at Scottrade Center begins on Thursday night. The Redbirds will play in the quarterfinals against Evansville oat 2:35 p.m. Friday

The Redbird Rally is free and open to fans of all ages, with food and beverages available to purchase from the menu.

Ballpark Village is within walking distance of Scottrade Center and near MetroLink. The team has held rallies at the team hotel in the past.

"We are pretty excited about that change in venue and I think our fans will really enjoy it," Lyons said. "If the weather holds up, it will be a convenient walk back to Scottrade (Center) for the games."

WJBC 1230 AM and WJBC.com. will broadcast live from the Brew House before each Redbird game.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
