After ending the regular season with four-straight wins, the Illinois State men's basketball team aims to build off of its recent momentum when the fourth-seeded Redbirds open Missouri Valley Conference Tournament play against fifth-seeded Evansville Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Scottrade Center.
Friday's game is a rematch of ISU's regular-season finale at Evansville, which resulted in an overtime Redbird victory. The winner of Friday's quarterfinal matchup will advance to Saturday's MVC semifinals.
WJBC's Scott Laughlin will broadcast live from the Redbird Rally at the Brew House in Ballpark Village starting at 11 a.m.
Illinois Wesleyan is making its sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 24th overall. The Titans travel to Stevens Point, Wisconsin to take on Dubuque for a first round matchup. Eric Stock and Joel Swanson will have the call on WJBC 1230 AM after the ISU game. The game can be heard in its entirety on WJBC.com starting at 4:45 p.m.
Central Catholic will travel to Riverton to play the Macomb Bombers in the Class 2A Sectional championship game. Larry Duling and Eric Lapan will call the game on WJBC at 7.
The Illinois State baseball team will head to Florida for eight games over 10 days, beginning Friday.
The Redbirds will play three games at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida, March 6-8. ISU takes on St. Joseph's at 9:30 a.m.
