BLOOMINGTON – WJBC’s St. Jude Radio Runners team is once again raising funds this year for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis and for its Midwest affiliate, Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.

The team is hosting a dinner-auction fundraiser on May 2 at the VFW Post 454, 1006 E. Lincoln St., Bloomington.

The 6 p.m. auction will include dinner from Avantis, entertainment, door prizes and a live auction. Prizes include a big screen TV from Sherman’s, a round of golf for four at a Bloomington course, St. Louis Cardinals tickets, plus a three-night stay at a house at Lake of the Ozarks.

Mike Johnson of Bloomington will be the singer. WJBC and WBNQ host Susan Saunders will serve as emcee and auctioneer.

All money raised goes directly to the research and care of St. Jude children and their families. Money collected will be presented during the annual St. Jude telethon on August 1.

Anyone requesting ticket information can call (309) 533-3392. Tickets will be available at the door.

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
