David Peel
David E. Peel, 76, of Bloomington, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Heritage Health, Normal.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Central Catholic High School or to the American Cancer Society.
He was born January 23, 1939 in Decatur, a son of Acel and Macy Isbell Peel. He married Maureen Arnold on March 4, 1977 in Bloomington.
Surviving are his wife, Maureen Peel of Bloomington; a son, David Casey Peel of Temecula, CA; three daughters, Jamie (Brennan) Wielgopolan of Bloomington, Daryl Peel of Springfield, IL and Angela Peel of Rochester, IL; three grandchildren, Becky Peel, David Peel and Mark Brockhouse; a sister, Dorthy Claytor of Decatur; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eileen Peel.
David was employed by J. L. Wroan & Sons as well as Felmley Dickerson prior to his retirement. He was an avid supporter of Central Catholic High School athletics and was honored to receive the Saints Service Award. David spent his summers taking his beloved 442 convertible to car shows throughout the area.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother.
