Patrick R. Holtz, 38, of Chicago, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at his home on May 5.

His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday at St. Mary’s Church, Bloomington with Rev. Gregg Petri officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Monday at the church. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Easter Seals or St. Mary’s Grade School.

Patrick was born Jan. 26, 1976 in Bloomington, the son of Raymond J. and Lois V. Veasey Holtz.

He is survived by his father, Raymond Holtz of Bloomington; a sister, Donna (Bart) Williams of Normal, two brothers, Frank (Shanan) Holtz and Thomas Holtz, both of Bloomington; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Holtz.

Patrick attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He was an altar server and his memories of serving mass were dear to him. While a student with St. Mary’s Grade School, Patrick enjoyed being a member of the Webelo Scouts of St. Mary’s Pack 20.Patrick also attended Illinois State University and DeVry University. He was a member of the ROTC program (at ISU), IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers) and the Wesleyan Piano Guild.

Patrick enjoyed golf, fishing, his two cats and spending time with family and friends. He had a deep appreciation and love of the arts, including all varieties of music, painting and history. He was also a sci-fi fan and interested in space technology.

 

Gladys Kaisner

Gladys “Marge” Kaisner, 89, of Fairbury, passed away at 7:15 a.m., May 8 at her daughter’s residence in Fairbury.

Funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church. Ministers of the Church will be officiating.

Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be held from 2-6:00 p.m., Sunday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9-9:45 a.m., on Monday at the Church.

Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community or the donor’s choice of charity.

Mrs. Kaisner was born March 12, 1926 in Forrest the daughter of Louis and Louise Mueller Zimmerman.

She married Merle Kaisner on Feb. 22, 1948 in Forrest. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Wanda (Alfred) Kupferschmid of Forrest, Robert (Cheryl) Kaisner, Jerry (Donna) Kaisner, Don (Leona) Kaisner, Gwen Knapp, and Le Ann Kaeb all of Fairbury; 35 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen (Mildred) Zimmerman of Forrest, Allen (Melba) Zimmerman of Fairbury, Bob (Judy) Zimmerman of Normal, and sister, Betty Hodel of Roanoke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, one daughter, Becky Kupferschmid, one granddaughter, four brothers, and three sisters.

Mrs. Kaisner was a homemaker and a member of the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church.
