Cardinals select ISU’s DeJong in MLB Draft

NORMAL – Illinois State baseball Redshirt Junior infielder/catcher Paul DeJong has been selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2015 MLB Draft.

DeJong led the Missouri Valley Conference in home runs (14) and ISU in RBI (48), hits (70) and doubles (15) this season.

DeJong said he plans to sign with the Cardinals, despite having one year of eligibility left. He was drafted in the 38th round last year.
