Cardinals vs. Cubs, CornBelters on road tonight on WJBC

The St. Louis Cardinals begin their final homestand before the All-Star break at the rival Chicago Cubs come to Busch Stadium.

The Cards start the nine-game homestand leading the Pittsburgh Pirates by eight games and the Cubs by 8.5 games in the National League Central.

It will be a battle of righthanders as John Lackey (6-4) will pitch for the Cardinals against Jake Arrieta (7-5) of the Cubs.

We’ll take you to Busch Stadium for the call from Mike Shannon and John Rooney at 6:20 p.m.Tim Lewis will host a brief Sportstalk at 6 on WJBC and WJBC.com.

The Normal CornBelters begin the second leg of their six-game road trip as they visit the Joliet Slammers. The game is on WJBC.com at 7 p.m. with Greg Halbleib at the mic.
