Cardinals host Padres, CornBelters seek sweep of Rascals

The St. Louis Cardinals try to rebound from their first series sweep of the season, the Cardinals welcome the San Diego Padres come to Busch Stadium for a four-game series.

The Cardinals’ scheduled starting pitcher Jamie Garcia was scratched because of a groin strain. Lefthander Tim Cooney will make his second career start in place in the 6:15 p.m. start. Righthander Tyson Ross will get the ball for San Diego. WJBC 1230 AM will have action with Mike Shannon and John Rooney starting at 6:05 p.m.

The Normal CornBelters look to finish a four-game sweep of the River City Rascals as the two teams meet tonight at the Corn Crib. Pregame begins at 6:20 p.m. with Greg Halbleib on WJBC.com.
