Mickey Wallace, 67, of Bloomington, died at 8:25 p.m. on July 14 at Heritage Health in Normal.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home in Bloomington.   The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal, YWCA in Bloomington, or the American Red Cross.   To express condolences online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com.

She was born March 22, 1948 in Springfield, daughter of Robert and Delores Smith Rist.   She married James Wallace in 1966.

Surviving are one daughter, Michele Shive of Bloomington; one granddaughter, Cassandra (fiance’ Chris Veach) Shive of Springfield; one brother, Robert (Pam) Rist of Normal and two sisters, Nancy Rist of Jacksonville, Fla. and Vicki Grashoff of Pekin.  Also surviving are her special friends, Justin Bowling and Dee Serapin, both of Bloomington and 5 nieces and nephews, Matt (Ivy) Grashoff of Pekin, Mindy Grashoff, Tremont, Mitch (Shannon) Grashoff, Manito, Brandon ( Dianna) Rist, Palmetto, Fla. and Brian Rist, Sarasota, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant sister, Mary Ellen Rist and one brother, Marc Rist.

In her earlier years, she worked for the State of Illinois and later received her Cosmetology license and owned and operated “Mickey’s Place” in Virginia, Ill.

Mickey enjoyed cooking and collecting bird houses, but her family was most important.  She especially loved to spend time with her granddaughter, Cassie.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Health, Normal and OSF Hospice for their care and support of Mickey.
