Scammers soliciting for donations, claiming to be the Illinois National Guard
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois National Guard has learned that individuals claiming they are the Illinois National Guard have been telephoning the public soliciting donations. It is against Department of Defense regulations for the Illinois National Guard and all other entities under DOD to ask for donations of any kind.
If you receive any contact of this nature, please contact your local law enforcement to report the incident.
Air Force Airman Tyler Carter
Air Force Airman Tyler A. Carter graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Carter is the son of John A. Carter of Lincoln, Ill., and Kimberly Aaron of Hillsboro, grandson of Jerry E. and Gloria Woods of Hillsboro, and Dennis A. and Gloria J. Carter of Lincoln. and nephew of Gayle and Scott Woods of Hillsboro.
He is a 2009 graduate of Altamont Community High School, Altamont.
