ŠIAULIAI, Lithuania – Former Illinois State guard Daishon Knight has signed a contract to play professionally in Lithuania for BC Šiauliai, a team that competes in the FIBA Europe Cup league.
“I want to thank Illinois State and my Redbird family for the tremendous experience I had as an ISU student-athlete,” Knight said. “Coach (Dan) Muller and his staff were the most caring and motivating coaches I ever played for. I am so excited to continue my career as a professional basketball player in Lithuania. I have never been to Europe, and I’m excited to experience this wonderful opportunity.
Located in Šiauliai, Lithuania, BC Šiauliai plays at the 5,700-seat Šiauliai Arena. BC Šiauliai has won the Baltic Basketball League championship for two-straight seasons. The club was recently invited to join the 2015-16 FIBA Europe Cup tournament.
