BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Public Library Board has approved an $80,000 contract with Farnsworth Group to develop plans for an expansion of the library.
Principal Architect Edward Barry said Farnsworth Group will gather feedback on what people want out of the library.
“The idea is to get input from the general public, to get certainly a lot of input from the (library) staff, because the staff knows a lot about what they want,” Barry said.
Barry said there will be a few public hearings to discuss the potential expansion but the dates have not been scheduled.
After public input is received, Farnsworth will develop conceptual designs to present to the library board.
Library staff have said an expansion is needed because the library’s circulation has almost tripled in nine years.
