NORMAL – The Normal CornBelters captured their seventh straight win by completing a sweep of the Evansville Otters with a 4-3 win on Thursday night at the Corn Crib.

The CornBelters scored twice in the fifth inning to open the scoring on an error that plated Cameron Monger and a single by Mark Micowski that scored Ozney Guillen.

The Otters cut the deficit to 2-1 in the seventh on four straight singles with one out with Shayne Houck scoring on a base hit by Nik Balog.

The Belters added two more tallies in the seventh inning when Monger reached on a single and went to second on an error to lead off, then went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Guillen, who reached on an error that led to the ejection of Otters manager Andy McCauley. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
