Joanne R. Carr, 81, of Bloomington, died at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, where visitation will be 90 minutes prior to services (9:30 -11:00 a.m.) at the church. The Rev. Vaughn Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington immediately following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington. To express condolence online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com.

She was born April 9, 1934 in Hoopeston, daughter of Howard and Helen Decker Watson. She married Ron Carr on February 1, 1953 in Bloomington.

Surviving are her husband, Ron, of Bloomington; her daughters, Deb (Gary) Stromberger and Jan (Tim) Zadoks, both of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Renee) Stromberger and Lindsey Stromberger and Alex and Brooke Zadoks, all of Bloomington and one great-grandson, Jacob Stromberger of Bloomington and her brother, Jim (Sharon) Watson of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sue Ehrmantraut.

Joanne worked as a secretary, first at State Farm Insurance Company, then later for Park United Methodist Church, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family. She loved to attend the activities that her grandchildren were involved in and was their biggest fan.
She also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and antiquing with her husband.
